The timer is missing and cannot be replaced by a switching socket, as the set values are reset when disconnected from the power supply. If you want to take advantage of the slow cooking time of about 10 hours, you need to turn it on at 02:00 in the morning to be ready by noon. At other times, the pot is simmering at 7:00 a.m., for example, and then you keep the heat on until lunchtime.
