I bought this product because I have a router about 2 meters from the room where I have my PC and I didn't want to pull cables. I have 1Gbit internet, but my router is transmitting on dual band - i.e. on 5ghz it transmits 865mbps and on 2.4ghz it transmits around 400. On 5ghz I have the 802.11ac standard set on the router. With my phone and tablet my wifi goes at a speed of about 500mbit. After connecting this thing to the usb3ky, it automatically connected me only 2.4ghz and it went to 20mbps. After hours of router configuration where I finally removed the 2.4ghz connection and left only 5ghz, I managed to get to 300mbps with this adapter. I downloaded the game and after 10 minutes the driver application crashed and so did my net. Only a PC reset helped. FYI all devices in this comment are not max. 2 years old and mid-range or higher. I don't recommend it, you'd better stretch the cable. The whole driver manual has pictures of the windows xp environment, so that says something.
