I still have an old Magnifica type at home that produces dry sediment and water doesn't run sideways anywhere. Buying a new type was not a replacement for a better one. I've been using the new one for about 0.5 years and now I've advertised it

Water flows into the sediment reservoir when the machine is switched on, when coffee is brewed and when the machine is switched off
The sediment (poop) is not dry, it is wet and catches mould quickly
When making a milk drink, the water inside the machine flows into the drip tray
