if you want to turn off the radio so that the display does not light up, you must turn it off using the switch on the back of the radio. the remote control turns off the radio, but the display is still on.
if I put a razor into the socket to charge, the radio loses signal and stops playing
the remote control only works partially by reflection if you point it towards the radio
