I have no comparison, it's my first ice cream maker.
It is necessary to chill the prepared mixture as much as possible, otherwise the ice cream will only be poured into the cold cream.
Fruit ice cream with pre-chilled (not frozen; -) ) the mixture from the freezer was ready in 15 minutes. The ice cream mixes can only go into the fridge so that the water does not separate and therefore the ice cream is ready in about 40 minutes and must be cooled in the freezer.
I recommend to give 2/3 of sugar than in the instructions, but it is up to your taste.

easy to assemble and maintain
it fulfils its purpose and the ice creams are excellent
cooling performance of the bowl (on the other hand, it is 1/10 of the price of a compressor ice cream maker). I have no illusion that other passive ice cream makers would be better off.
