The cover is great for me, but it's definitely not designed to protect the phone. It doesn't cover the screen in any way, so don't put the phone face down on the table and I don't think it will protect the phone even if dropped. The cover serves thanks to its thickness purely for a better grip, so that the mobile does not slip in the hand and if you have rings, it covers against scratching the back.
