Absolutely gorgeous second instalment of the game Frostpunk.
On the base PS5 it runs relatively well, but as soon as your city starts developing into the endgame, performance drops a bit. Still playable, though.
Frostpunk 2 is a beautiful simulator of the collapse of democracy and the descent into a small fascist state in the midst of a new ice age. The atmosphere is brilliant, the writing is complex, and the difficulty is definitely dependent on your willingness to learn the game.
Compared to the first game, the second instalment has brought a really large number of new mechanics, systems, and challenges. If you enjoyed Frostpunk, keep in mind that the second game is different in many of its mechanics and, in my opinion, many times better.
I recommend the game to all fans of the series, those who like post-apocalyptic games, strategy, and masochists.
The Whiteout edition includes an upgrade code for the season pass and the DLCs look great so far, a very cool little lamp, and a few extra goodies for the biggest fans like myself. If you are just getting into the series, I would recommend just the base game, ideally the Whiteout edition with all DLCs.
