The GIGABYTE B650I AORUS ULTRA motherboard comes to the gaming field with quality workmanship, a clear BIOS interface and a rich connector set. However, this is redeemed by the need to use the included reducers and expansion card to achieve maximum motherboard efficiency. Without using them you have very little available, 2x4pinPWM 1x SATA 3.0, 1x AUDIO, 1xPWR Button, USB 3.2.
If you want to connect a SATA SSD you are therefore forced to use the included expansion card. If you want to use the motherboard in a small PC, think carefully about the case you choose. If you choose an enclosure like the Fractal TERRA then your worries are over. However, if you reach for the Lian li Dan case a4-h2o then absolutely forget about using an expansion card, as you can't plug anything into it due to the placement of components in the PC case.
