Relatively quiet, I had an Asus RTX 2080 ti, and it hummed a lot during VR gaming. Probably the presence of 3 larger fans than the 2080, they spin less and thus do not make such a noise
Absolutely perfect for VR, that was the main reason I bought it. The 2080 ti was struggling and going towards 100%, the image in VR was choppy to the point of making me sick from the minor choppiness when turning sideways in the game. This has completely fallen off and the card is running at around 50% performance max.
24GB of memory is pretty handy in VR. The 11GB I had before wasn't enough. Now it's taking about 18GB when I'm in a VR game.
The most demanding VR game, the fully modded Skyrim, handles with ease in max. details. It doesn't cut in, and the image seems cleaner. Even loading times and transitions between locations have increased.
I'm excited to see how significant the difference is when going from 2080 ti to 4090. Plus, I'm finally enjoying more silence even when playing classic non-VR games without having to go the water cooling route.
for some people the price, when they can get a whole PC for the price of a GPU
Those who want to play VR in high detail and without choppiness have to pay extra
