it works pretty well for me. I wanted it to lighten the keyboard in the dark, because I don't have a backlit keyboard. It is a fact that the light is very poor. I'm not sure it's good for reading. You can read it, but I think it's just so eye-rolling. It reminds me of when we used to read under the duvet with a torch in our hands when we were young. the lamp succumbed to decay in less than two years, I probably should have complained, but one is tired of today's crap. Things for kids break within hours. I should start throwing it in a pile and make a collage, then sell it and get my money back at least that way

The product should be recalled by Alza, it is misleading the consumer, it absolutely does not perform the function it is intended to and I dare say it performs absolutely no function in terms of lighting. I thought it was a joke. If the manufacturer made this on April, I understand. Nobody try it, it's a waste of time. Worst light in the world. There's nothing worse. It still requires a 3x AAA battery, which is absolutely beyond my comprehension. Very disappointing. I have never had such a bad feeling about products. One feels deceived.

I would describe the product as a night light rather than a reading lamp. It illuminates the book/magazine very poorly. Reading under this lamp is almost unreal.
