I was assembling the model with a boy of almost five years old, who managed to assemble almost the whole model under supervision. I only helped him to make a couple of more complicated joints, especially when the cardboard was already shaking. The assembly requires manual dexterity and patience, perhaps because the model is listed on the recommended age 12+. Some dikes are really very small, but while I needed tweezers my son managed to assemble without them.
Nicely done. The pieces fit well together and even though they are made of cardboard they are quite durable.
Assembly is possible without glue
Children will appreciate that the model contains mechanically moving parts.
I originally bought it for fun, but the kids were happy with the gift under the tree and then even if they managed to build it themselves.
