Definitely bamboo wood!
The disadvantage is that the "paws" of the torsion (coil) spring arms do not extend over the entire width of the peg and do not have "hooks" at the end to prevent the individual wooden parts from buckling when the peg is pressed (not exactly in the axis), which often leads to a complete "shooting" of the peg, which is very annoying (when hanging laundry on frames sticking out of the balcony, the components fall from a height of 7. They are then difficult to trace in the grass). It would be enough to lengthen the "paws" by 6-8 mm and make two extra bends, which would increase the total price of the pin only slightly and the pin would be the one my grandmother used since the 1930s. century ("I still have that from deep peace., " she used to say: -)
The torsion spring is wound with gaps between each coil equal to the diameter of the spring wire. If the spring were wound tightly (without gaps), it would exert more force to compress the pin, which is desirable.

The pins you purchased certainly don't look like they are made of bamboo. At home we have bamboo stakes of the same size and they look different. The pins were quite damaged in the package, chipped (chips sticking out) and the wood was hairy, as if untrimmed. A big disappointment for me.
