A ridiculously high-bright LED.
It disconnects connected storage media by itself! No data corruption so far, but the glitch is annoying.

It works on the first try with all the peripherals I tried (USB 3.0 gigabit ethernet, USB 3.0 FLASH memory and drives, USB 2.0 external AXAGO sound card. )
It has a connector for external power supply, a mains adapter with 12V= output is included.
Allows you to connect and power even more power-hungry peripherals
The adapter does not need to be connected if the power from the port on the computer is sufficient
Hub works reliably even at the end of a 5m long USB 3.0 active cable
For the vast majority of my peripherals, power is sufficient for both the active cable and the hub at the end of the cable directly from a port in the server (I have an AXAGO PCEU-23R superspeed PCIe USB 3.0 controller)
The output ports in the pair are far enough apart to accommodate two wider devices such as FLASH memory, a small USB sound card, etc. instead of the usual connectors.
Small blue LED on the top surface indicates connection to the computer, its light is not annoying
It has no hardwired cable that could break over time, even the data input is handled by a standard USB 3.0 type A (F) connector.
It doesn't heat up, its idle power consumption will be low
Flat design, can be easily packed into a laptop bag - laptop
