It is a renamed 13900KS with a discount.
It is one of the most powerful desktop processors on the market.
It is energy efficient after limiting the power input and possibly the frequencies.
It can be cooled very well with a reasonably limited power input.
The processor is limited to a frequency of 5500 MHz and a total power consumption of 180W, the processor can be cooled by an air cooler.
After an even greater power reduction, you can make an extremely efficient processor, e.g. to a small workstation, e.g. limited to 125W yet still manages 33k points in Cinebench R23.
The processor, unlike AMD processors, consumes only about 4W at rest.
Intel ships this processor with absolutely insane frequencies and power consumption, some board manufacturers make it worse by not having the Intel limit set to 253W, but letting the processor eat even more.
Without tuning, it is extremely energy inefficient and overheats.
The processors really bend a bit without the mounting frame in the socket and the cooling gets worse - in certain places of the heatspreader, a too thick layer of paste is needed due to the bending of the processor. The mounting bezel is a necessity for clocking devices to improve cooling, it is not necessary in case of power limitation.
I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars mainly because the processor is just a material from the manufacturer to be tweaked and as it is set up, it seems unusable to me.
