If you’re a fan of that ’90s nostalgia, when everything in every chemist’s on every corner smelled the same – ‘floral’ and faint – then Olivia Blossom will transport you back there in a flash. It’s meant to be unisex, but the reality is that it’s still very much a women’s fragrance, one that will remind you of the scent you used to come across in the ladies’ toilets in shopping centres.

It’s perhaps a hair’s breadth better than Magnolia, because at least it makes a bit of an effort to come across as a ‘fragrance’, but it’s still rather weak.

That floral touch is simply ‘retro’ in the worst sense of the word. It comes across as cheap and flat, and after a while all you can smell is that tired floral medley that lacks any character. No depth, no masculinity, no modern niche approach.

Waste of time. Even though they’re trying to make it look unisex, it’s just another ‘boring floral’ design that won’t do you any favours. If you don’t want people asking you whether you’ve just popped into the ladies’ loo, you’d be better off giving this bottle a wide berth. I’m giving it a 4/10 simply because it took me back to my childhood for a moment – even though it was the worst possible memory.
