On all the surfaces where I sprayed the spray, only a horribly sticky coating was formed, but you still can't avoid replacing the belt

Absolutely not recommended! I sprayed it on a 5 month old wedgie and it literally ate him up. I shot the next day, the mess was awful and the belt was in tatters!
