It achieves the claimed speeds within some standard deviation. Some people here complain that the drive runs slower, the reason is probably that the gen 4 PCIE connector of the drive plugs into the gen 3 PCIE on the motherboard. The quoted temperatures of 70-90°C are also quite off in normal conditions. Tested for a few days with a passive cooler, the highest temperatures I had were 57°C at maximum loads in tests, the disk still sits right next to the graphics card. In normal use 40-45°C, idle temperature 30-32°C. Gaming/installation temperatures 40-57°C (depending on requirements). The declared 70-90°C can be achieved by the controller, where higher temperatures are more common (SSDs offer to monitor both the controller and the storage chips via various tools). Bottom line, if you want to use this drive to its full potential, you of course need a passive heatsink (which most boards have on them today anyway) and a proper PCIE port generation. If a person does not need this drive and complains about temperatures or speed, he should rather look for another product, it is not the fault of the drive but of the customer (except for potential defective pieces, of course).
