Furthermore, the hose (at the inlet) must not be sunk perpendicularly into the barrel, but rather laid more, as it were, more in an almost horizontal position. And then the water flows, the speed is smooth. Of course, with a higher speed drill (the manufacturer states up to 2800 rpm) the water should flow faster, even longer hose ends would be sufficient. But I haven't tested that. For occasional use for pumping water from a barrel etc. that's enough, and the price is absolutely right. For other purposes, in my opinion, I would have to reach for another (more expensive) pump. I hope this experience of mine will help you more in your decision making.
