I had been using Brita Maxtra kettles and wanted something smaller and sleeker. Laica looks about the same size in the photos as e.g. Brita kettle, but it measures 32 cm in height, which I did not expect, the dimensions are not listed anywhere. The diameter of the base is 10 cm. It won't fit in the door of a smaller fridge. I could live with that, but the fact that the cap can't be opened after tightening and that the kettle doesn't filter limescale doesn't suit me. The water from the Brita kettle tastes significantly better and the kettle is also easy to handle.

It's made of glass, so it's heavier. If you want to pour yourself a pint, you wait with a heavy thing in your hand.

The jug is made from thick glass and it feels nice and sturdy
the problem is that it filters water at a very low speed and it takes a very long time to fill a glass in comparison to a typical filter this is much slower and feels stupid to have to wait so long for a glass of water every time you want to drink

Irrelevant - the seal with the seal must be opened during refilling, it is necessary to engage more according to the tightening force and the cap itself does not have protrusions, so tighten only slightly.
