The lamp has 3 levels of light intensity. Each time the light is switched off using the switch on the lamp, the intensity of the light will change the next time it is switched on. If the lamp is switched off by unplugging it from the power outlet (or by using the switch on the extension cord), the lamp lights up at the same intensity when plugged into the power outlet again.

I bought two lamps above the bed on each side. I thought they would be the same, so I drilled the holes for both lamps according to one. I finally found out they weren't. The handles are in a different position on each. It's not a tragedy, but if anyone has the same idea as me, beware. Otherwise I can only recommend it, nice price, nice design, simple design and dimming is a nice feature.
