Lots of possibilities to play with the kit.
Even though it is not mentioned in the instructions, the train can be retrofitted with the original LEGO lighting and the locomotive then has lights.
I recommend it to all LEGO and train lovers.

The wagons can be switched in various ways, they are magnetically connected

I don't understand why in this day and age when everyone is pushing renewables etc. this train runs on standard AAA batteries, which run out after one or two days.
simply LEGO, it never disappoints

addictive. even for a grown man
to get the train moving, you need enough AAA batteries (10pcs in total) which are not included in the package. This is something to keep in mind if you are buying the train as a gift.
it is not possible to order an alternative with rechargeable battery pack !
the number of tracks in the package is pitifully small, for a real experience you need to buy additional tracks and switches

The boys are excited. The older one (6 years old) put it together practically by himself, I only did the subframe. The younger one is most interested in loading/unloading wagons. For 2 boys, the train set-up is just about perfect - a lego car, a hawk and a wagon that can carry several Englishmen.
