I don't know about other brands, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cut( quality, even clean cut).

I find the workmanship quite good and quite satisfactory for home.
The price and quality seem to me to be adequate( although I have no experience other than with the above mentioned piece- I leave the rating below according to the experience mentioned above
If you don't hold the plastic over the cutting surface, it will start to tear at times. But with the plastic hold, everything is on a whole other level.
Set the cut and hold the cut paper-just about enough to hold the ruler.
