After scraping with a flint scraper, it makes a great tinder for kindling.
The log contains a really big portion of bad luck that burns great.
And it smells good
The string isn't like the picture, but it's the kind you tie bales with. Hairy and I have no confidence in him. But that's the least of it. The spike fulfilled its function.
