I was looking for an audio system to improve the already good sound from my Sony Bravia XR55A75K TV. I tried several soundbars and still the sound wasn't significantly better compared to the TV. I chose this Marantz mainly because of its compact dimensions, so it fits nicely in the shelf under the TV (see photo). Competing brands usually have much higher performance, which I would not use in our 16 m2 mini-living room. Compared to soundbars, it has a lot of parameters that can be set either manually or automatically via the microphone supplied with the AVR. I've got a Magnat Alpha RS-8 subwoofer connected to it and 20-year-old boxes from a cheap Genius Home Theater 5.1 system, and it's already sounding pretty good. I'm sure it will play even better when I get some better racks (I don't have room for column ones, unfortunately). I knocked off that one star because of the OSD as I write in the cons - I just haven't figured out why it doesn't work yet.

Audio setup options
The OSD for Setup and Option does not work when the TV Audio input is turned on (Sony Bravia XR55A75K TV). For other inputs it works without problems.
