I directly compared Kilburn II with JBL extreme 3: despite the higher claimed power of 50W (vs 36W for Kilburn II), I find Kilburn more powerful. Especially with K. you can go to maximum volume without losing quality, whereas with JBL max. is max volume annoying, shouted bass. I'm only comparing the sound.
Twisting a physical knob is almost a relaxing activity in the age of sensory buttons and voice assistants
You want to go to maximum volume - and you will. The speaker doesn't lose its breath even at maximum
Nice performance considering the size; 30-40m^2 room comfortably filled with sound
sounds "paired", "battery charged", etc. short bass tones, which I appreciate - instead of voice over announcements like "pairing", "please charge"
Status LEDs (bluetooth and battery status, respectively. on) are only visible from a small viewing angle, which is great - in the dark, your whole living room isn't lit up. Status LEDs also reduce brightness after 30s when you don't twist anything
Overall good impression of a solid piece of electronics

Not minuses, but rather nitpicky sighs:
Too bad the 2nd gen no longer comes with the 3.5jack-3.5jack twisted pair cable like the 1st gen
Too bad the strap/strap is not real leather, but something like faux leather
the "tray" in which the control knobs are embedded is plastic - it doesn't offend me, but it's a pity, on my 1st gen Woburn the same part is made of brass sheet
Despite the claimed "omnidirectional sound", it is still a classic bassreflex cabinet design, exhaust to the rear. Unusual is one tweeter turned backwards (you can see it here in the photos). Otherwise, of course, it doesn't matter where you stand in relation to the speaker, especially the highs are simply directional.
