After a year and a half of use, the plastic is badly corroded and the buttons are very unresponsive. I don't know why I expected quality from Microsoft, but you won't find it here for sure.

The scroll wheel does not run smoothly, and is narrow, very cheap non-premium impression
Fits poorly in the hand, fidgety inaccurate - but that's subjective. Even the smaller Logitech Pebble is a luxury in terms of design and accuracy

It does not have unnecessary buttons that would annoy and be pressed unnecessarily and by mistake
it does not need a USB receiver and thus saves the slot for other uses, I have no problems connecting to the laptop
it is not quiet, the clicking can be heard at night if you do not want to disturb
it doesn' t turn off automatically when idle, I have it for a short time and I don' t know how long it will last yet
it is for two thin pencil batteries, it seems unnecessarily excessive to me
