The name of the phone is misleading. Motorola released 2 versions of this device: Moto G50 and Moto G50 5G. Although both versions support 5G, the Moto G50 5G has different, much better specifications, and at the same time a higher price. This model is Moto G50 and not Moto G50 5G.

Motorola is flooding the market with more and more cheap models, and this very solid middle class is completely lost. Cheaper than other branded competitors, and at first glance discouraging only with a 720p display, the G50 is the epitome of security and simplicity. Against Moto G6 or Moto G4 I saw a slight increase and changes in the installed software (lost Facebook and Linkedin, thank God), added a poorly translated tutorial for moto gestures and Motorola is now involved in the Lenovo ecosystem for companies (ThinkShield logo is displayed instead of the old “ Hello, Moto! “boot animation). The shortcomings or advantages of the operating system are otherwise purely due to Android 10, which Motorola (Lenovo) has not manipulated in any way. The bootloader appears to be locked to protect ThinkShield. The resolution of the display is surprisingly well hidden and only on closer inspection or direct comparison can its smaller fineness be seen, but on the other hand it is clear enough and thanks to it the battery life is really good. The phone survives one day reliably, even two days with no easier use. The battery doesn' t even charge slowly, as Motorola now only gives a 10W charger against the G6 (and G6 Play), which had 15W, two hours is more or less the upper limit. The quality of the camera is comparable to the Moto G6, two more lenses for panorama and other effects have been added, but these do not have a great effect on the quality of the photos. The photos are not top class, but in the case of Motorola they never were. And this is, in my opinion, a disadvantage and disadvantage of the Moto G50, it is a very average phone for a very good price, which does not suffer from any major weakness but apart from the price and the 5G does not stand out from the competition, at least not on paper. From a practical point of view, Motorola phones withstand careless handling better than the competition, software updates are slower than usual, but still guaranteed, and near-clean software doesn' t slow down or bother you after two or three years of use. What impact ThinkShield will have will be seen.
