The laptop came without Windows pre-installed, which I knew. However, I had no idea how much effort it would take to install Windows itself. After about two minutes of gradually overcoming the obstacles, searching for the procedure on the web and youtube, I decided to pack the laptop and take it back to Alza. Finally, after about 4 hours of searching. Reading, watching tutorials and trying managed to install Windows Home 11, activate the license and the laptop runs beautifully. Years later, I installed Windows on a PC and it was another experience. If you are dealing with a similar problem, I will be happy to guide you through the entire process for a nominal fee. I was buying primarily to work in Lightroom, Photoshop and especially Davinci Resolve, as a machine for travel or when I'm away from my desktop PC with 12th gen i9, 64GB Ram and 3080Ti.
What bothered me a bit was that after buying it about three weeks later, the price of the 4070 version dropped so much that there was only a difference of 5 thousand crowns between this and the 4070, and I might have rather taken the 4070. In retrospect though I still have no regrets, even at the time of writing the review and even at the time of purchase this machine was probably the best value for money. I purchased another 2TB SSD fastest Gen. to do 64GB Ram then exchange for 32GB because they are fully sufficient and even with Davinci, Photoshop, browser with 30 windows and maybe one game memory was never more than 80%. I can compare to work in Davinci with a macbook Air M1 with 8GB Ram 7-core GPU and 256 SSD, Mac is really smoother, but when it comes to hard (Fusion, render) so the raw performance of Katana along with more RAM wins, a little disadvantage feeling fragile unlike Mac where one has a feeling of confidence and solid piece. Not to mention the fact that I have a 3TB drive in my Katana so I can carry my materials with me for processing without the need for an external drive, respectively. I carry it, but only as a backup. I couldn't do that with a Mac. Since I also play, so for gaming hats off, the luminosity is weaker some 250 nit, so in the daytime worse, but in the evening or at night great, 144hz also fine and GTA 5, Cyberpunk, Days Gone, Dying light on full HD highest details all over 100-150 FPS, but can sweat nicely GPU to 80 ° C CPU to 90 ° C with a quality cooling pad but the performance does not drop and beautifully smoothly maintains FPS. Admittedly it is harder to colour on this one as the colour rendition is pretty sub-par, but for the money a nice buy and I would go for it again, I think I have room for 3-5 years on this one. I definitely recommend a quality cooling pad, although it does not reduce the noise, rather the opposite, but it will increase the clock speed and speed, since I primarily use headphones at work and play, the noise that is definitely higher here does not bother me so much and, for example, during the movie does not need to cool and therefore there is no noise, plus it has quite decent speakers, so it can be used somewhere on the road, for example, when watching a movie.
