I was helped in my decision by a review from a lady. The controls are really simple for the kid. The little one can turn it on and off by herself. It fits beautifully in her hand, is light and looks good. The light is pleasantly dim but sufficient to illuminate. It can also be used by mothers when they need to change their baby at night and need a dim light. Possibly later when the baby falls asleep. So I would also recommend it as a gift for the birth of a baby.
