It replaced my 6" ereader inkBook, the diagonal mainly for work, while the backlight was for my fiction hobby. And it is not only in these areas that the shift in technology is very noticeable: The Onyx doesn't squeak on low backlight, and it can be dimmed much more than the inkbook can. The display is very fine and mainly: it's much faster, so it's actually a real usable tablet! I expected more compromise. What I don't love is the lack of page scroll keys - the inkBook had them on the left and right, plus a back button and a display refresh - absolutely ideal layout. With Onyx nothing, you have to make do with touch, which is a big unusual and I don't like it. But considering the other positives, I still give it 5 stars.
