The TV still has USB active and the light is still on even when the TV is off. I recommend choosing something with a switch, otherwise you're going to have to disconnect.

Pleasant illumination of the wall behind the monitor, does not pull the eyes so much.
If you have the monitor on the desk and the PC on the floor under the desk, the cable may be short (I found it just right)
For me, the PC does not stop powering the USB when I turn it off, so the strip stays lit until I turn it off hard with the power switch on the power supply. Then the switch can be turned on again and it will remain off. I couldn't find a setting in the BIOS to change this. But it's not a defect in the tape itself.
