Case tested EVOLVEO Ptero Q12 / mtb GIGABYTE AORUS Z390 PRO / disk GIGABYTE AORUS Gen 4 SSD 2TB I bought an M.2 SSD disk to speed up applications and games. The motherboard already contained passive cooling for the M.2 SSDs I used in the first phase, and because I wasn' t sure of its effect (load temperature 56 ° C), I set out to try alternatives. ORICO M2SRC red looks nice - if you have a glass case and place the disk in a visible place (not under the graphics card, etc. ), then in my opinion it is a nice design element. Unfortunately, it is at the expense of noise that a small radiator fan emits an annoying higher frequency sound that overcharges other fans over time. The installation itself was not entirely easy, because at least it was a bit difficult to screw the heatsink into my board (and I' m not sure if the dimensions differ from other manufacturers). I really had to place the disc in the heatsink very carefully so that on the one hand it could be fully inserted into the motherboard and on the other hand the heatsink sat at the thread for mounting. Even so, the heatsink would need to be slightly ground (1 mm? ) to fit really elegantly. The effect of ORICO active cooling did not differ from the passive heatsink supplied by the board manufacturer. At a load of 56 ° C. In conclusion, I conclude that if someone is clearly interested in the design and does not mind the noise of the fan and MAINLY the M.2 SSD disk does not cool in any way, this may be an option. Personally, however, I would go into the passive way of cooling - for easier installation and mainly because of the noise. I add that I also tried passive cooling (AXAGON CLR-M2 ALU) with exactly the same result (56 ° C) in the load.

the same effect as other PASSIVE coolers in a similar price range
more difficult handling (not completely fitting dimensions)
