I needed to connect multiple external drives to my computer at the same time, some of them 2.5" powered directly from USB, so I was looking for a hub with external power capability that could handle it. This one can't handle it. I don't know if it's the lack of bus throughput or the inability to take enough current through the external power supply, but when connecting and disconnecting devices it usually completely kneels and disconnects all the already connected devices, and with a heavier load (in terms of data transfer) sometimes the connection to some ports completely froze and had to be hard disconnected. I lost my data. If someone wants to plug a mouse and keyboard into it, then okay, but it's completely unsuitable for more demanding applications. I replaced it with a slightly more expensive AXAGON HUE-F7C hub and it works without any problems.
