Contagious - I got one at work, soon had to get one at home: ) . 1/ switches - no more "disconnect and reconnect" 2/ external power supply - simply no lack of juice for the device 3/ ext. 12V power supply (not 5), works with router adapter 4/ enough holes.

USB HUB with power connectors and its own power supply. Great if you have connected HW that you only want to use occasionally, you don't want to keep it on all the time and you don't want to keep pulling and plugging cables (scanner, backup drive, etc).
It is not plastic, as it says in the description, but metal
decent backlighting and indication of enabled ports. Blue (white would be much nicer), but not loud.

It does what you'd expect it to do.
With "light" devices (HW key, keyboard, mouse, network) it does not heat up during normal operation.
Nothing
At the moment, it would also need some USB-C ports (small) - but nothing that a few crowns' worth of reducer wouldn't solve.
