Not pro but not amateur either. If you need a camera for family activities this is the right choice. She can take a picture of a ring on the hand, she can document first steps and can handle graduations, as well as family celebrations of all kinds from parties, weddings and funerals. It can handle portraits, landscapes and video for sports racing or straight F-1. It's simply versatile for holidays or just for the outdoors.
For me, the deciding factor was the price which is almost half that of comparable cameras plus the built-in luxury of neutral density filters, which are used more in film than photography. For me it's max. Satisfaction even though this model is currently quite sub-counter.

He can really do a lot, he just has a bit of a problem with submarine photography: )
In order to take full advantage of the potential of this camera you need to buy a software for about 100 €, called. V-log. Lots but really lots of flashlights and a double charger because this battery is so for an afternoon break. And what you must not miss is a quality PC with at least VR ready graphics or straight gaming comp. Of course, a 4K monitor is a must, otherwise you'll be "sharpening your knives in the dark". However, the flash from Panasonic is a complete abomination for half the price of the camera and you should have at least two of them. Well, in sum, you must have something at home already or else you are carrying around a useless 500 € that you will never use. If you are new to photography you need to be patient because you can set everything on this box and more than on others.
Pay attention to the connectivity and speed limits of your PC ports. If you don't have SDXC read support you will need pills to calm you down. Because from one short walk ( 1-2 hrs. ) not infrequently you bring even 100 GB on the card and then what to do with it. SSD drive almost a necessity. Here you will not only be referring to capacity but primarily to data transfer speed. Well but that's actually 4K and a tax for luxury and a nice picture.
