It works exactly as well as it sounds from the description. The only small downside to the whole system for me is that the plate permanently attached to my camera at home ruins my desk.

Great stuff. It holds beautifully on the backpack, just a little wider strap is a little more challenging to get it on, the spacing between the screws is not that great.
