I had a different brand of reader before and since it was getting on in years, I figured it needed an upgrade. The choice fell on PocketBook - I don't want a Kindle because of the closed platform and Android readers don't attract me - and the Verse Pro seemed to me to be almost the best they have. The reader is great, in fact I have nothing to complain about it at all so far - it's slower at times, but I think that's the cloud sync on; when reading or browsing in the library, it's brisk enough. I also like the colour scheme, only the sides of the reader are blue, but it's still nice. (The back side is black and "notched". ) It's usually recommended to buy the cover, the blue color from PocketBook matches the color of the reader nicely.

The display is fine, with excellent backlighting and colour adjustment for night readers
