Top-notch device, lightning fast overall (from environment to transfer speeds).
It writes to internal HDDs at about 96MB/sec and reads from them at 117MB/sec.
On an externally connected HDD via USB3.0 (via the "PremiumCord USB 3.0 -> SATA III" adapter) it writes 52.3MB/sec and reads 97MB/sec (all measured with only one RJ-45 port connected, using both would be much faster).
The abysmal difference between this NAS and other NAS in the price category up to 4 thousand CZK, which have a CPU up to 1GHz, RAM 512MB, etc. This model runs its operating system much faster than its cheaper brethren, and the graphical (and therefore more hardware-intensive) environment finally makes sense. Don't skimp on NAS, even if you don't think you need such an expensive one. Believe me, you need. Everything else around 4tis is still slow and unstable.
Speed is guaranteed by the Intel Celeron J1900 @ 1.99GHz CPU.
After previous experiences with Zyxel NSA325-V2 (connection to USB 3.0 after a while of reading/writing to it faded and HDD had to be disconnected and reconnected, only USB2.0 ports worked stably here, but with lower speed) and ZYXEL NSA520 (where playing movies from it through another standalone device that had access to files via Samba incomprehensibly lagged).
The RAM can be expanded, but the built-in 2GB (only one slot out of two is occupied) is enough for now (1893.7MB free - only the Download Station application is installed).
Dozens of other applications to install (SQL server, PrestaShop, php server, mail server, etc. )
Speed, stability, does not look Chinese like other toys under 5k.
Control via keyboard and mouse when connected to a monitor/TV via HDMI
Kodi (former XBMC), the device itself is a media player
You'll love this machine!
For some, maybe the price, but the bigger investment is definitely worth it. The performance/price/quality ratio is adequate (I was choosing between this model and Asustor AS6202T, which has a weaker CPU and costs about 1600 CZK more, so QNAP won)
