We bought it mainly for faster drying of laundry in winter. In a normal room, it can hardly reduce the humidity below 45% (the water increases very slowly), but in a smaller room it can dry a whole dryer of laundry from the washing machine in a night from about 70% (the container is full, the laundry is still a bit damp, but by the evening it dries by itself). Right in the room is too noisy to sleep. The buttons beep comically loud and the container is strangely narrow and tall.
