I used the product as a cleaner after dyeing the laundry in the washing machine (to clean the residue in the drum). At the same time I put a piece of old coloured laundry in the drum.
The washing machine drum was beautifully clean after use. The blue piece of cloth has turned grey, so the bleaching effect is definitely there.
A temporary disadvantage is that the washing machine does not smell very pleasant after use, but this is only a temporary effect that will disappear with the next wash.
