After a failed experience with an external 18 TB HDD from WD, I decided to create my own backup storage. After a longer selection process, the Seagate Exos X20 20 TB was the best value for money product. After inserting it into the external box and mapping it, the stress test began in the form of uploading a number of files from several disks. Considering the primary purpose of the drive is for business use somewhere in a data center, I expected higher noise and heating. To my surprise, the opposite is true. Compared to the original external HDD from WD zero vibration and really incredibly quiet operation and little heating. I cannot evaluate the speed, the copying was done via an older PC and it depended on the electronics of the HDD box. The only thing I would like to point out is that everyone should check the real size of the disk before buying - 20 TB is actually 18.2 TB.

I replaced 2x Seagate Ironwolf pro 6TB in my Synology DS218+ NAS with 2xSeagate exos x20 20TB. The whole operation took about 24 hours. The Exos x20 20TB was not on the list of supported drives at the time of purchase. Everything seems to be fine and functional. Time will tell.

Awesome fast platter drive. The capacity is very decent and it has CMR. I have it as an external and it's audible, but of course it's more of a server drive, so that's more of a comment, not a big negative.
