Compared to the 4TB IronWolf, it's a lot noisier, but it's still fine, the temperature in the Synology 923+ NAS is around 34°C.

I bought it for the NAS. Satisfied, except for one thing - very noisy pressing of the disc heads. The original IronWolf (without the Pro) is not audible at all in the NAS, but this one is quite audible when you see it. I recommend only for NAS/PC closed somewhere in a closet or utility room where noise does not play a role.

I purchased for my home NAS and overall I am satisfied. However, it is so loud that even the drummer of a metal band would be ashamed of the volume. It doesn't bother me when watching TV, but if the room is quiet and the disc is running, it's very loud and distracting. Unusable in the bedroom, survivable in the living room, but it must not run anything with continuous writing. Because of the docker, I had to add SSDs in the end, because running on this HDD would drive me crazy from the constant head shuffling.
