Radios are kind of fun. You unpack, set up the channel, and just work. The call quality is good and it feels good in the hand. I would have expected a bit more endurance, but I don't take it as a negative for the price. Just buy batteries.

Right out of the box and after inserting the batteries, the radios are ready to serve their purpose. There is no need to set up anything complicated (maximum channel), but if you want to set up everything in your own way (beeping, ringing, vibration, reception of two channels simultaneously. ), you'll be faced with an uncluttered menu and you probably can't do without the manual. The supplied batteries have a capacity of only 600mAh and last only a few hours on a single charge. However, you can use batteries with a higher capacity. I tried the Panasonic 1000mAh and the radios with them lasted 14 hours on reception, which is enough for a normal trip or work shift. Charging the batteries directly in the radios in the supplied charging cradle is brutally slow and so called. "stupid", so you have to watch the charging time yourself. The manufacturer recommends charging the batteries for 10-14 hours with the radios off. It's hard to say if this recommendation also applies to batteries with higher capacity than the ones supplied (you can't read anywhere how much current the batteries are charged with), but in any case, if you leave the radios in the charger for too long, the charging will probably never complete itself and the batteries will suffer. I solved it by taking the dead batteries out of the radios and charging them in a smart desktop charger that can do it in 2-3 hours.
