We purchased this model after the thermostat on our previous Severin EK 3051 egg cooker failed. The new model not only has a nicer design and seems to be more compact, but also has functional improvements, in particular the buzzer announcing the end of cooking is much nicer and quieter than the previous model. Also, the on/off button is softer and can be operated without having to hold the device with the other hand. This is also thanks to the soft rubber feet, which secure the device well against movement. Cooking is hassle-free, nothing to worry about here, just need to pierce the eggs on the blunt side. It is a bit surprising that the instructions say that the lid cannot be washed in the dishwasher, but I guess there is something to it, because with the last model we washed it in the dishwasher and it cracked. Otherwise a great device for reasonable money.
