I am evaluating the purchase of a freestanding fridge after the previous built-in fridge, which had been out of date for a long time and was already 10 years old, so it could not even technically match the new fridge. Our fridge is located in the kitchen, which is connected to the living room, so we also addressed the noise from the fridge so that we would not be disturbed by the fridge in the living area. So we chose a fridge that has a low noise level. The new fridge has two cooling circuits where the old one did not. The new fridge is bigger, the old one was smaller thanks to the built-in version. The new fridge has the ability to set specific temperatures for both the freezing and cooling section and the old one only had a power setting of 1-7 without a specific temperature. The new fridge alerts you when the door is open with an audible tone, the old one does not. The new one automatically switches on super freezing when you put unbaked food in the bottom right corner and the old one doesn't. The new fridge has automatic defrosting of the freezer compartment, the old one does not. The new fridge has two large bottom drawers one above the other in the refrigeration section where one provides almost 0°C and the old one had two smaller drawers next to each other. In general, we can say that we have improved compared to the older version of the fridge, which we had for 10 years, both in terms of lower consumption and the equipment and options it offers. I can't evaluate the fridge from a long-term perspective yet, because we have only had it for about 1 month. For the time being, it works perfectly. What I rate as a huge benefit that we have not encountered in other refrigerators is the possibility of zero side clearance of the refrigerator even for opening the door and pulling out the drawer. In case you are replacing a built-in fridge (placed next to the wall) with a freestanding one like we did, this is basically a necessity. Other refrigerators require, for example. 3-5cm distance from the side walls. This fridge is also one of the few with a very small distance (3cm - according to the instructions for use) from gas and electric cookers, where others are often 5cm or more, or the instructions for use state that the fridge should not be placed next to the cooker at all. In case you (like us) have a refrigerator placed next to the stove, this is quite a crucial parameter in case of a claim that might not be accepted because the appliance is not placed according to the instructions for use. From the point of view of claims and warranty, we evaluated the SIEMENS service as commonly available, because it is a brand that is in the field of home appliances associated with the BOSCH brand, which has a relatively long representation in the Czech Republic and the service center has been operating here for several years. We have no problem with the fridge after 1 month of use. The door swap itself is relatively easy and is no problem even with a minimum of tools.
