Photo output quality better (especially noise) than my Canon 50D DSLR. Very low noise when shooting video in low light conditions (Christmas by the tree) than the older Sony camera.
Low battery life, however, this is compared to the old DSLR with the battery pack.

apps are not purchasable for our country - to get around this you have to (found on the forums) register as someone from England or Germany, and even then for paid apps the system will recognise that the payment is from us. The fact that we are second-class people for Sony pissed me off so much that I returned the camera - it was because of the app capabilities that I bought it - otherwise, apart from faster focusing, it doesn't offer anything that revolutionary compared to my current NEX-7 (WiFi transmission is the last thing I would miss).

Well crafted body that is easy to hold. The APS-C sensor is excellent, with high dynamic range and fast focusing. The display is easy to read with a fine grid. When using image effects, it saves both JPG and RAW images.
Battery life is inadequate. I recommend buying one more battery as a backup. I was disappointed with the quality of the 16-50 because of the visible distortion. In JPG, the distortion is eliminated directly in the camera. With RAW format, it needs to be solved in the PC.
