Personally, I'd say a better choice than the JBL GO3/GO4. He completely stomped his XB13 predecessor into the ground. Compared to the JBL GO3 / GO4, the XB100 has more pronounced and thicker bass at the expense of mids and highs and more than double the sustain. I find the JBL to be cleaner and probably a bit louder on the speaker, but the bass is lacking compared to the XB100.
One can make a call with him without the other party complaining about poor delivery. Thanks to the design, it's "spatial" and you don't have to have it pointed at you. The GO3 bounces around on the table when you put it on its back, speaker up. It depends on personal preference. For me, the winners (within the category) were bass, battery life, microphone, ability to pair with another speaker, and construction.

Bass, mids and highs perfect
Sound presentation is top notch. However, it depends on the quality of the transmitted sound. from PC and iPhone 13 Pro perfect. the Motorola Edge 30 isn't so great anymore.
Design - rounded edges, small size
Very loud for its small size.
A little rumble on a hard surface. A foam pad or even a folded t-shirt will solve it.

I bought two speakers for stereo pairing. The pairing is reliable and takes place instantly. I use one speaker for spoken word, which sounds much better from the speaker than directly from the phone. I use the stereo for music.

I was originally considering some small JBLs, but I tried this model and I have to say it's a pleasant surprise. The sound is distorted from bass to treble, I like the omnidirectionality too, the volume is quite sufficient, the pairing is easy and the size is optimal. As a benefit, it can be paired into a stereo. Great.
