If you were used to the flawless DVD players of the brand. Philips PD9005/12 that are no longer available for purchase, it is almost certain that the Soundmaster is the right choice for you. Even the accessories are identical, I dare to say by various signs that the Soundmaster brand has taken over the know-how of the brand. Philips incl. good level of workmanship. While the battery lasts not 5 but only about 2.5 hours, the Soundmaster is lighter again.
An indisputable advantage of the soundmaster is the audio/video input.
Overall, I rate it as very successful for travel and for the children's room, it will replace the DVD player for TV, I recommend it !
The Soundmaster PDB1910SW is rightfully one of the best on the market
The player works better than I expected, decent DVB-T2 tuner
Low weight, large range of accessories incl. bags for the car seat backrest.
It remembers where you interrupted playback and resumes when you turn it on.
The workmanship and material are of high quality, I recommend the PDB1910SW.
The great thing is that the device has an audio/video input and you can send video from another device such as a satellite or ntb etc.
The picture is very good even from the side view, the sound is decent for the size of the device, it could use more power in the car, but it is acceptable.
The menu and controls lack Czech, but the device supports Czech during playback incl. subtitles. I don't have a problem with that.
The manufacturer does not indicate the battery life of the built-in battery, there is no indication of the charge status. The device switches off without warning.
In DVB-T2 mode bad accent menu, but basically readable.
The IR receiver is not on the front panel, when used on the armrest in the car it is a bit of a problem, for example to mute/amplify the sound.
Must be switched off by sliding the switch on the side of the device, switching off by the button on the DO is only standby and the battery will run out in a few hours. This information is not in the instructions.
The protruding feet at the bottom of the device are a bit of a hindrance when sliding it into the bag on the armrest in the car, but it's no drama. The rubber plates on the legs just shrunk and peeled right off, but they're not missing: o)
