I took the risk and I don't regret it. Some of the hooks this card still has, but certainly none of the negative reviews from last year apply anymore.
I've encountered driver issues, such as Windows order wants to download some old version even though I manually downloaded and installed the current one, but it's solvable.
Then the fan control. I only start at 1300 rpm, which is plenty. At a certain temperature, the controller can't decide if it wants the fans or not, and they start fooling around and shutting down every now and then. It stops only after the card warms up, then the fans run. In practice they don't even go over 2000 rpm, but they can max out at 3600 rpm where they roar like a helicopter.
The RGB backlight of the card is not adjustable, the color is variable depending on the temperature.
When the PC is switched off, the red light comes on to indicate a lack of power. Maybe it's a motherboard error that gives some small voltage when the computer is turned off.
I'm not into modern games, I've tried a couple of titles at speed: World of Warcraft depending on location 100-200 FPS, Civilization 6 - 150+ FPS, Dota 2 200 FPS, CS 2 200 FPS, The Witcher 3 100+ FPS, etc. Older games such as DIablo III, Portal, etc. no problems, performance up to 300 FPS, just a pin can this game.
I haven't seen less than 100 fps in any game yet.
I have a 165 Hz monitor so it's nice if the graphics match it. The overall line-up:
