To keep the dust off the glass, I "steamed" the bathroom with a hot shower (the dust gets wet with moisture and falls to the floor), where I then applied the film.

somehow I didn't feel any deterioration in the visibility of the display
Impaired sensitivity of the fingerprint reader. Increasing the sensitivity of the touchscreen helped slightly. However, I don't know which glass foil would not make the deterioration worse.
